Preservation of the Muong culture of Vietnam
Hieu Duc Vu is the director of the Muong Culture Museum. The Muong (Hmong) are an ethnic minority
in the mountainous regions of Vietnam, and the Muong Cultural Museum exhibits the life history and
rituals of Muong life. Protection of ethnic minorities is one of the most sensitive political issues
in Vietnam, and Hieu Duc Vu is taking the lead in protecting the traditional culture of the Muong people.
He is having a strong social impact on Vietnamese society by organizing traditional performances of the
Muong people to spread the disappearing culture of the Muong people to the public.
