RDF uses its skills and local knowledge to effectively monitor and assess rural development and natural resource management projects ,and it provides technical assistance to adapt and improve programs The Rural Development Fund (RDF) was established in November 2003 as a non-profit, non-governmental research organization. The purpose of RDF is to promote locally led projects aimed at poverty alleviation and long-term rural development. RDF actively engages local communities, government agencies, and donors in identifying priority areas and strategies for achieving long-term rural development goals. RDF has hands-on experience designing, coordinating, and implementing rural development and natural resource management programs, as well as developing technical assistance projects, mobilizing communities, ensuring impact, and properly framing lessons learned and lessons for later dissemination.
Major Activities
Educational activities  RDF's activities in ICH safeguarding often include educational initiatives aimed at raising awareness and transmitting knowledge to younger generations. By organizing workshops, training programs, and educational campaigns, RDF ensures the transmission of traditional knowledge and skills to young community members. This strengthens intergenerational bonds, promotes cultural continuity, and fosters a sense of pride and appreciation for one's heritage.
Promotion of ICH  The Rural Development Fund (RDF) engages in ICH safeguarding activities that promote and enhance cultural diversity, particularly through their recent project focused on the preservation and dissemination of the cultural practice of "Bata" as a significant aspect of the Kyrgyz people's spiritual and cultural heritage. The project, launched in May 2021, aims to instill respect for the history and traditions of the Kyrgyz people among the younger generation.
International Cooperation   By collaborating with neighboring countries and international organizations, RDF promotes mutual understanding, appreciation, and respect for diverse cultural practices. This enhances social cohesion, fosters cross-cultural understanding, and contributes to peaceful coexistence within and between communities.
