Leading expert in the development of policies in the field of ICH Dr. Ahmed Skounti is Chair currently Professor of Anthropology at the National Institute of Archeology and Heritage (INSAP), an affiliate of the Moroccan Ministry of Culture and Communication. By participating in the establishment of the 2003 UNESCO Convention on the Intangible Cultural Heritage and the drafting of the implementation draft of the 2006 Convention on the Intangible Cultural Heritage, he has contributed greatly to the development of discussions on intangible cultural heritage education and sustainable development. He is actively engaged in activities mainly in North America, the sub-Saharan region, and the Arab region.
Major Activities
Promotion of ICH  Participation in the ICH inventory policy for the protection of intangible cultural heritage in Tunisia, various intangible cultural heritage advisory activities.
International Cooperation  2003 UNESCO Intergovernmental Conference facilitator activities for various intangible cultural heritage conventions, including drafting and adoption of the intangible cultural heritage convention.
