Group Introduction
The Voice of the harmonious variety of crafts that creates the ‘Gondola System’ El Felze was founded in 2002 as a gondola manufacturing association based in Venice. Recognizing the importance of protecting gondola-making knowledge and related culture, there are currently around 100 artisans who make gondola oars, furniture, decorations and accessories. To protect, transmit, and revitalize intangible cultural heritage related to gondolas, 20,000 different types of educational workshops were conducted, especially by providing learning materials for children and teachers. In addition, Venice's unique gondola technology is interpreted in a modern way through citizen participation, such as restoring the gondola in an open place, and sharing the intangible values contained in it.
Major Activities
Educational activities  Transmission of traditional gondola making technology, establishing academic programs through schools, holding public lectures in historic establishments.
Promotion of ICH  Sharing personal experiences of ICH through exhibitions, producing publications, and operating public meetings with citizens
International Cooperation   Presentation and discussion of ICH practices through participation in international conferences, participation in events by foreign public and private organizations.
