Group Introduction
Sustainable development of Traditional masks Asama is an organization established to protect and transmit traditional masks that are in danger of extinction due to the development of modern society. This organization is taking the lead in preserving the traditional culture of the people of Burkina Faso and informing society about intangible cultural heritage related to it. In 1996, it was approved as an NGO by the government and is carrying out international activities.

Every two years, it holds an international festival with masks in the Dedougou region to promote traditional masks. In order to preserve the traditions of Burkina Faso, Asama is engaged in various activities, such as proposing policies to the government by building cooperative networks with individuals, governments and international organizations.
Major Activities
Educational activities  To promote research and assist in the safeguarding, promotion and preservation of African mask traditions.
Promotion of ICH  Participation in exhibitions and forums, international masked art festival (FESTIMA) operation and exchange.
International Cooperation   To urge and facilitate the cooperation between governments, national and international organizations and individuals interested in the preservation of traditional masks and mask performances.
